withoutreservation.org adheres to and encourages the following values in this web space:
2. Commitment to truth
3. Respect for people
4. Integrity in everything
We desire is to be loyal to God above all else.
Psalm 118:6 - It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. (NKJV)
Because of who He is and what He has done for us, our first allegiance is to Him. Though the tendency for people is to elevate self, personal rights, cultures, preferences, and beliefs to the place where it serves personal interests, we desire to prefer God instead. We're interested in following Jesus Christ without reservation. In order to do this, we believe that it's necessary to count everything else that we value in life as loss, compared to the overwhelming greatness of knowing Him. This is our desire and aim. Loyalty to our Creator is of first importance.
We believe in absolute truth and that God is the only source of it.
Psalm 33:4 - For the word of the LORD is right, And all His work is done in truth. (NKJV)
When we speak of truth, we are speaking of God's truth. We believe that the Bible is God's written word and is His truth revealed for all people. We believe that God's truth transcends all cultures. We believe that though there may be many applications of God's truth, the only interpretation is the one that He intended... and we are not free to change what He intended. So, when trying to discover the truth about something related to our faith and it's expressions, our first question is "What does God have to say about the matter?" This is what we mean when we say that we're committed to truth.
Respect is a core value found in God's Word.
Philippians 2:3 - Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. (NKJV)
It also should be found in our lives. For the follower of Jesus Christ it is important to cultivate and demonstrate respect for everyone. Respect does not mean having to agree with or lay down one's convictions. Neither does it prevent one from speaking firmly. It means dealing with one another with humble regard and consideration. We do not expect that everyone will agree with us or with each other in every matter, but, in this web space, we do expect everyone to be respectful to one another, regardless of race, culture, or religion. This site will be moderated by this principle.
Integrity is important to us.
Proverbs 11:3 - The integrity of the upright will guide them, But the perversity of the unfaithful will destroy them. (NKJV)
With so many divided interests and motivations among those who associate themselves with Jesus, it's our desire to create an environment where these are not questioned. Our agenda is simple: we exist to see Native North Americans following Jesus Christ without reservation. We realize this may be offensive to some and there will be others who disagree with our positions. We aren't going to pretend that we know everything... because we don't. However, honesty and integrity are what you can expect here. This is also our expectation for anyone that would seek to participate at any level in this web space.
